Okay, so I've never been that fond of Lady Gaga. Nothing really against her, just not obsessed like a lot of people. Quite frankly I thought her Grammy entrance and outfit were super lame. After that, I saw her on good morning America, and my opinion changed. She is a really awesome girl, who truly believes in women respecting themselves, their bodies, being confident and following their dreams. She also does MAC's viva glam lipstick, which all proceeds go to helping and preventing aids. She says she remembers mac as a young girl, and observing the fact that they employ all types of people. Something I admire about mac cosmetics, is you will see all shapes, sizes, races, ages, and sexual orientation behind the make-up counter. As long as you have talent. This is why Lady Gaga is a mac supporter.
While her latest song sounds like Madonna, I love it. It took me a few times of hearing, and listening to the words to realize that. If you haven't heard it, please go listen to "born this way".
"There's nothin' wrong with lovin' who you are"
She said, "'Cause He made you perfect, babe"
"So hold your head up, girl and you you'll go far,
Listen to me when I say"No matter gay, straight, or bi,
Lesbian, transgendered life
I'm on the right track baby
I was born to survive
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made
I'm on the right track baby
I was born to be brave

Do you wear shorts?
I really love the way shorts and tights look, like adore it. No matter how many pairs of shorts I try, I just never like the way they look. I see girls, all sizes and colors, in really short, shorts all the time now. It looks so cute! For some reason I cant get it to work. Maybe my legs are too white, my weight isn't really in my legs, but I just cant stand the way my thighs look. Its making me nuts, I want to wear something other then dresses in warm weather. I just keep dreaming about shorts, with tights, and a pair of oxfords. Sigh.

Typically I am anti Valentines day, for the obvious. My friend opened my eyes when she posted about Valentines being about love in general, not just romantic love. Share and show the love to anyone that you care about. Friends, family, pets. It doesn't have to be your spouse. I got a nice card from my grandma, that made me happy. So I put together some home made collage Valentines, and chocolate covered oreos, to share with my friends tomorrow at work. The pens I love and found for .99 cents, the doll head is my fav!

I am very fascinated by certain aspects of Asian culture. One of my favorite past supervisors at work calls me Amerasian. She is Vietnamese. I love her. I get to her to teach me as much as possible. These are two envelopes I received today, there are $2 bills in them, you don't spend, they are thought to bring good luck and wealth in the lunar new year. There are several traditions, here is some info via Wikipedia:
Chinese New Year is the longest and most important festivity in the Chinese Lunisolar Calendar. The origin of Chinese New Year is itself centuries old and gains significance because of several myths and traditions. Ancient Chinese New Year is a reflection on how the people behaved and what they believed in the most.
Early the next morning, children will greet their parents by wishing them a healthy and happy new year, and receive money in red paper envelopes. The Chinese New Year tradition is to reconcile, forget all grudges and sincerely wish peace and happiness for everyone.
