My type of Easter

I went out Saturday night. I think I made a really good plus size play boy bunny. I enjoyed myself, I made my ears myself, and I simply love dressing up!
I tried to take a picture of the dogs all together and there was no way I could swing that. Here are some pictures from MY Easter, I hope you enjoyed yours!!

run over to...

To Forever 21, if you are thick or thin, just go! Shorts, cute ones, are just $10!! They have twill in different colors, even cute red! Also denim in a dark and light wash. There are also strapless cotton maxi dresses for $12, I saw red, yellow, and navy. These are the plus size prices, so if you are super thin, im sure its even cheaper. Freaking amazing!! Now the plus size world has a long way to go, but it has come SO far, there were none of these options when I was in high school. I mean, life would have been way easier. I couldn't find clothes any where. Thats why I looked all jacked up. Amen for retailers waking up. So go support them, so we can keep it coming. oh and they are cheaper in store, then online.
Have a good weekend lovelies!

Real party :Fiesta on a budget

Most of you know I would love to be in the party planning field. So I volunteered to do my friend Caroline's baby shower. It was a baby girl co-ed fiesta, on a major budget. With $$ the possibilities are endless, and I hope one day to build up to that. The vases are all Mexican coke bottles with carnations. I bought the Jars at thrift shops and filled with Mexican candies. I made all the tissue bunting. I previous blogged about my Sangria recipe, and borrowed the Mexican jug from Lolas. The seed packets say "Grown with love, Baby Hische". PiƱatas are a deal on Olivera street. I did a clothes line with some vintage baby books I found at a local store. I wish I could just open a business that was all things creative lol. Anyway, I liked the way it turned out. Here are a few pictures. Let me know if you need any creative help, with any type of party.

HS get together

It was really nice to see some girls from our High School crew on Saturday. The lovely Jennifer and her sweet husband hosted a bbq at their nice house in Mission Viejo. I had a great time. I think we had more fun together now, then ever in high school, lol! The alcohol probably helped. We were really good kids, we never drank. Briana and Russ have an adorable baby boy Carter, who of course I held most the time. I really hope to see them again soon, for some more fun, memorable times. I am not too fond of the way I look, but i forgot my camera, so here are some pictures, and one from Briana's wedding a couple years prior. I will not post any of me from HS!

Le' headscarf

It took me a very long time to be comfortable in this look, let me tell you. It puts a lot of focus on your face, and typically its a summer look, so sans make-up. Pair the scarf with huge sunglasses or big hoop earrings, and girl you are on your way!

Plus size and pregnant

No, not me!
One day, I do hope. Which makes this most just as important. I've known about a million pregnant girls lately of all shapes and sizes. Although it takes a little longer to realize a plus size beauty is pregnant , they deserve to feel just as special.
I recently stumbled across the fact that Torrid now has plus maternity online. That is fantastic. Of course us big girls have to pay through the roof for everything! Maybe one day we can get forever21 to do plus size maternity, omg thats an idea! Most the bigger preggo girls i see, just try and make their same clothes work, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't, and even after its the cotton leggings and tunics look. Now me being Miss stylish, I'll probably stay the same, and be in heels, unless I totally cannot.

Like usual, I don't have many Torrid picks. Honestly go to the fashion store and get a $4.99 cami in a 3x, DO NOT pay $25 for a damn cami. They will probably have more choices if this does well but here are my essentials from the line.

My white sangria

YUM
for the fiesta baby shower yesterday I decided to make a white sangria.I prefer white to red wine, so that was my choice. I looked up several recipes online, and everyone does it a little different. I used a huge Mexican glass jug for mine. Here is how I did it:

4 bottles of any white wine. I used $2 Charles shaw chardonnay
1/2 cup of simple syrup. I made mine, boiled 1/2 cup water and added 1 cup of sugar, stirred till dissolved.
2 cups of brandy. I used E&J the bottle was only $5.99
1- 2 liter bottle of ginger ale
2 bags of frozen sweet mangos from TJs
4 green apples sliced
3 pears sliced
3 lemons sliced
3 oranges sliced
..
the night before the event I poured the brandy, syrup, mangos, oranges and lemons together in the jar. I took out all seeds. Placed in fridge. About an hour prior to event, slice and de seed apples and pears and put in jar, along with wine. You don't want brown fruit. Right before serving add ginger ale, and stir very well. Taste test!!! I wish I had a better picture, to show how pretty it was, but its there, in that jar

Hostess Etiquette

Hosting a party is a lot of work! Even the couple parties I've had took a ton of effort and finances. If you do chose to throw a party however, please do it right. There's a reason a ton of party planners, and wedding planners are still in business in this economy. When it comes to bridal/baby showers, and bachelorette parties, often times close friends and family will offer to host these events. By " hosting" a party this means you are offering your time and finances to execute the event. If you cannot do so, please do not offer. It really only causes frustration for others involved. If your heart is in the right place but you know the task is too big, just let that friend know.
Thats, my 2 cents!

Should I bring anything to a party?

Absolutely. If you've thrown a party, you know how much time, effort and money goes into it. Bringing a gift helps offset that, and it's a good way to get invited back.

So the next question...what do you bring? That depends on how formal the party is and how well you know the host. For a casual get-together, beverages or food for the party is always a welcome gift.

At a more formal event, bring a gift for the host: muffins for the morning after, a bottle of booze, a bouquet of flowers, a book or gourmet chocolates. For a really lavish affair hosted by a close friend, a massage or after-party clean-up service is much appreciated.

Some gift ground rules to keep in mind:
• Don't upstage the host. If you're bringing food or drink for the party, find out what the host plans to serve first, and bring something that would complement it.

• Don't add to the host's stress. If you're buying flowers, get them arranged in a vase so the host doesn't have to run around looking for one.

• Do include a note. Hosts have a million things to think about during a party, and remembering who brought the great chocolates might slip their mind.

bunting love

Parties are definitely getting further away from the "party city" "character" look. The home made decor, vintage, chic, posh baked goods, thoughtful themes, are much more the trend right now. One big component is bunting! YAY bunting! I am very new to it, but i hope to advance in the bunting making world. People do some amazing things. Like sewing, creating it as decor around the home, or for kids rooms. Not just paper flags anymore kids. Here are some pix of what I like. Ill post some of what Ive made later. If you've done any, please share!

Happy Friday Bob

I wanted long hair for so long!! Now its growing and I want a change. I really love A line bobs, with some disconnection. Disconnection when it comes to hair, is when an area or pieces, are much longer or shorter then the rest of the hair. So there is no real guide you are following through the entire cut. Ideally I would like it very long in the front, with a typical bob in the back, with some graduation. Couple issues, I have really fine hair, so it doesn't graduate well in the back. Also I feel like short hair brings a lot of attention to your face, and really isn't the best option for my round face. Here are some cuts I enjoy. Please give me your feedback!!!
