sparkle

sparkle, dazzle, bling, glitter, sequence. I enjoy these year round, however sparkle is a hit this holiday season. I am really loving a dramatic glittery eye, sequence tops and little jackets, and bling heels. So unleash your inner diva and indulge in some major sparkle!!!

Sunday wishlist

There are so many great fall styles right now. I really am dying for a few of them. Oh what I would currently do for a cape, or some lace up oxfords. The over the knee socks are adorable, and satchels, oh my!
all of this is from asos.com, check it. xoxo

Thrift..deal or steal?

Okay,
So I love Long Beach, don't get me wrong. I am just highly disappointed with their thrift and vintage stores. I really have no clue why they are even called thrift stores. To me, they aren't even in the discount category. For example, today I bought a plain hanes sweatshirt at walmart, for $5, at the good will it would be the same price, but used, dingy, and dirty. Most Goodwill stores have a color on sale every day, for %50 off, if the item has that color tag you get the sale price. In Long Beach, they don't do this at all. So lately I've seen a couple dresses I like, but i refuse to pay $8.00 for a thrift store dress, sorry. The "Out of the Closet" thrift store is a bigger joke, almost amusing really. The average price of a dress is $50.00, pants are $10.oo and up. Insane. I live by 4th street's "vintage row", and still try to figure out how these stores afford the rent. They are adorable, and I have gone in to them several times, and rarely witness a purchase. The average "vintage" dress is about $80.00, skirts $50-60. There is a really cute baby shop, where ONE body suite is $22.00.
two stores I would recommended would be live feed, and the assistance league thrift store, both on 4th street. They are not super cheap, but better then the others.
I really miss Pomona's thrift store shopping, where you can find real bargains.
I think I have been to every thrift store in the area, if you know one that meets the definition of thrift, please let me know.

Stepping Feet

On Saturday night I seriously needed to get out. I went to Hermosa Beach to check out this DMB cover band, they played at saint rocke. The venue was awesome, beautiful really. It was really fun to meet people who love Dave, that alone made me really happy inside. It felt a little weird seeing a band play their music, and I automatically was thinking of how off it was.. but I would for sure go again for the environment and to be surrounded by such lovely people! This is me Saturday night, I am starting to really enjoy the bangs. I sat at the bar most the time, and still woke up to a throbbing knee.
Thats my baby Coco.

Bolthouse farms

So lately Ive tried to start thinking about whats going into my body. Very slowly lol. I have seen these drinks for a while, and a friend mentioned them on her blog as well. Typically high protein drinks are just yuck, but this one is really good. I have only tried the vanilla chai tea, but next I am going to pick up the mocha, it looks yummy! I have also been drinking coconut water, from naked. This is gross, but apparently its so good for you, I attempt to down it. I love the fresh juices at whole foods and mothers market but they are so damn $$$..

Micro Mama

I really have no clue what was going through my head, when I cut my bangs. I've done it a ton of times, and never this short. Maybe just the boredom of being at home with a crooked knee cap, not sure really. They look okay if I bump the back of my hair like below, but if i just leave my hair down, not so good. Lesson learned on when to cut your own bangs, good thing hair grows back!!!

My boys

Oh the things we do for the ones we love.
So I have done a lot of research on canine health. If I had a disposable income, I may just run to the vet for everything, but since this is not the case I've found a ton of home remedies, for our furry babies.
One thing that remains consistent is their diet. Now i realize diet is a huge deal for us humans, but it seems even more imperative for dogs. It can literally prevent or even cause many problems that arise in pets. Maybe because their bodies are smaller, maybe because their life spans are short (compared to us). Even the most expensive dog foods are fairly equivalent to a human eating fast food every day. They say a good diet can even fight off fleas!!
The last couple weeks I have been making my own dog food. It really comes out cheaper, is way healthier, and you know what is going into your fur baby. Of course it does lack convenience.
There are things pets cannot eat, so do your research before you try it.
My recipe typically goes like this:

Brown rice- $1.00 per lb.
canned vegetables, I pick one or two- spinach, sweet peas, green beans, around .80 cents a can. You can even use frozen mixed veggies. I just pass on cleaning up after corn consumption.
1 package of shredded carrots around $1.oo a bag.
I pick one meat, either canned chicken, or a lb of ground beef. Both around $2.50.
cook and mix together, and there you have it. I have two small dogs and this last almost a week. Of course if you have big dogs you will need room for much more. I really encourage this, its very cost effective, and will keep your babies healthy. It would probably benefit me to eat this too!!

Halloween time!!!!!

I
Love
Love
Love Halloween.
This big broke girl is going to pass on several new costumes, and Vegas for Halloween this year, and that is OK! I most likely will still go out, maybe to a party. I am not sure. I love dressing up for work too. So
this year, one costume is going to be a 20's flapper girl. I have some others in mind too, but we shall see.
Pumpkins are two for $5 right now, so i picked those up. Also I really couldn't resist these cute little outfits for my friend's baby Diego.
Since I was little I always daydreamed about being a mom, and decorating my house for my kids, haunted houses, costumes, parties, decorations, carving pumpkins, picking apples, Just making the holidays memorable. For now, I can dress up my dogs and myself and my house!!!
What are you going to be for Halloween?
What are some of your traditions?

Oxfords are quite the rage. Heel or no heel, these lace up shoes are just fantastic . I think they look adorable with tights, a skinny black capri, or a skinny jean. . So cute. I really do need a pair.
